Shared open data contest wraps up

A total of 163 contestants and participating teams received their awards at the finals of the 2021 Shared Open Data Innovation Contest (SODiC), which recently ended.


Among the 163 winners, 73 are from the professional category and 90 are from the general public category, and among the winners of the professional category, 39 are from the creative group while 34 are from the algorithm group.


The contest has been updated on the basis of the previous editions and welcomes talents at home and abroad to share their insights on propelling the construction of Guangdong as an important smart city hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and to participate in the development and application of data resources that promotes the exchanges of public data among government, enterprises and social entities across the GBA cities.


The contest was jointly hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Government Service and Data Management Bureau and Shenzhen Municipal Government and was co-organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Government Service and Data Management Bureau, the Shenzhen Talent Works Bureau and Longhua District Government.


Launched on April 20, the professional category of contest had attracted 5,218 participants in 4,045 teams from around the world, and the general public category had attracted 10,763 participants with 9,544 of them living in the Greater Bay Area.


The general public category, which was hosted by Longhua District, witnessed the active participation by children as well as adults in its painting, speech and writing subcategories and had received more than 9,000 submissions.
